UK registration

Free: vehicle identity, tax/SORN, MOT history, mileage and buyer red flags.

Full history: adds outstanding finance, stolen, insurance write-off and other paid provenance checks.

Who writes our content

Our guides are written and maintained by the MotorMkt team from primary sources — DVLA and DVSA guidance, the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and official write-off / finance definitions. Every guide carries a published and last-updated date.

Sourcing standards

We cite primary sources and link to them. Where data comes from a licensed provider (UK Vehicle Data), we say so and do not imply we query underlying registers such as MIAFTR or the PNC directly. Figures in our statistics directories come from published open government data.

Independence

Our guidance is not for sale. We do not accept payment to alter a check result, a guide's conclusion, or a vehicle's report. Product pricing is stated openly and never affects what a check reports.

Reviews and updates
